During National Disability Day,On May 27, 2022, the Party Branch of the Shenzhen Lions Club, together with ten service teams from Bijiashan, the Main Club, Longcheng, Xiangmihu, Zhongtian, Yantian, United, Qiancheng, Jingfeng and Wutong Mountain, held the 32nd Support Day of the Deep Lions Public Welfare School in the conference room of the Shenzhen Lions Club Office.
President of Shenzhen Lions Club Guo Yongyong, Chief Supervisor Tian Xingxing, second vice president Nie Xiangdong, Secretary General and Party Secretary Lai Zhuoni, Secretary of the First Functional Party Branch Liao Ronghui, Chairman of Disability Committee Yang Dehua, Executive Chairman Su Jianhua, members of Shenzhen Lions Club Party branch, representatives of five functional Party branches, representatives of various service teams and disabled friends participated in the activity about 50 people.
Chairman Yang Dehua made a speech. This activity is a sub-project of “Love the Silent · Help the Disabled Program”. It combines the cause of helping the disabled with the protection and inheritance of national cultural heritage, which has far-reaching social significance and lasting vitality.
Party Secretary and Secretary-General Lai Zhuoni delivered a speech. She said that the Party Branch of Shenzhen Lions Club implemented the guiding spirit of building a new model of “Party building + Lion Affairs” proposed by the authorities. Taking the 32nd National Day for Helping the Disabled as an opportunity, the Party branch actively gave full play to the guidance of Party building, explored the service path of Party building with the characteristics of Lions Club, and carried out the activities of Deep Lions Public welfare School, combining the guidance of Party building, the integration of the disabled and the non–genetic inheritance. Through the internal and external linkage of Party branches, actively play the role of party branches as fighting fortresses. Helping the disabled is the main business of Shenzhen Lions Club. We care about and care for disabled friends. We hope to learn and master the skills of making fish skin paintings, inherit and carry forward the traditional Chinese culture, and integrate the skills training of the disabled with the inheritance and integration of the “intangible cultural heritage” project, so as to create new life values.
Nie Xiangdong, the second Vice president, said in his speech that the Shenzhen Lions Club has always regarded the service for the disabled as one of the important services. Over the years, the club has taken various forms to help the disabled friends, tried its best to relieve the difficulties for the disabled friends, and made due contribution to the steady development of the cause of the disabled. He called on more service teams and people from all walks of life to learn about the “Love the Silent • Help the Disabled Program” to help the majority of disabled people participate in learning traditional crafts and help special groups realize their ideals.
Tian Xingxing, the chief supervisor, said that “Love the Silent • Help the Disabled Program” is a project he has been paying close attention to. Through continuous optimization, the project helps more disabled friends to learn intangible cultural heritage skills and experience the fun of creation, which effectively promotes the employment of disabled friends and continuously increases their income. He hoped that he would continue to carry forward the “Love the Silent • Help the Disabled Program” to gain more people’s attention, truly “helping others and serving the society”, and inherit the intangible cultural heritage project to benefit more disabled friends.
Mr. Guo Yongyong, Chairman of the Shenzhen Lions Club, made a speech at the conclusion, saying that the club promotes the disability program every year and makes a contribution to the society. Through the concept of “teaching people how to fish”, the program helps disadvantaged groups. It not only enables them to achieve flexible employment and stable income by learning the production technology of fish skin painting, but also cultivates their aesthetic taste, builds cultural confidence and better integrates into the society, fully displaying the harmonious atmosphere of “harmony between the disabled and the healthy, and co-creation with empathy”. According to the needs of the disabled, the Shenzhen Lions Club will continue to upgrade its services and provide more accurate services for the disabled.
Next, all the people follow the sign language teacher to learn the sign language dance “No one less”. In the process of learning sign language, I felt the disabled friends’ spirit of firmness, self-improvement, self-confidence, daring to go beyond themselves, daring to pursue dreams and daring to embrace brilliance.

Tea break + salon for disabled friends to relax
The fish skin painting training activities in the form of a more relaxed salon. The preparation team prepared very exquisite refreshments for the event, and the office prepared hot tea for everyone. Milk pudding, cookies, sandwiches, cakes and other delicious desserts and all kinds of fresh fruit are arranged on the table, and the flowers set off between them makes people feel very comfortable. The lion friends relaxed the nervous tension after busy, the disabled friends removed the barriers in the heart, we in greeting and chatting slowly get familiar with each other.
Intangible cultural heritage craftsman Ning Lei on site hands-on teaching
The training officially began. Mr. Ning Lei, the founder of fish skin painting, and his team taught everyone to experience the production of intangible fish skin painting. It is known that Mr. Ning Lei has been committed to inheriting the fish-skin art of the Hezhen ethnic group. The fish-skin art produced by his team has won the gold medal of the Fair for three consecutive years. In 2020, he was recognized as an “Intangible cultural Heritage craftsman” by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Under the leadership of Ning Lei teacher, we have been invested in the production of fish skin painting.
Lion friends are true companions
It rained heavily on the day of the event, but everyone was enthusiastic. Under the guidance of the lion friend step by step and with the company of his family, the disabled friend cut out the Fu character made of fish skin painting, and made the fish skin painting more vivid, vivid and three-dimensional with the help of the mold. Finally, the Fu character was framed with an exquisite picture frame. Friends with disabilities appreciate and praise each other repeatedly while holding the works made by their own hands. Their faces are filled with happy smiles and their hearts are full of sense of accomplishment. On-site staff picked up their cameras to take group photos of them, to record the beautiful moment.
Through the training on making fish skin paintings, each student not only experiences the charm of intangible cultural heritage at close range, but also masters the making method of fish skin paintings, inherits and develops the traditional domestic culture, and integrates the employment of the disabled with the inheritance of “intangible cultural heritage” projects. The Shenzhen Lions Club plays an active role in helping people with disabilities to learn traditional arts and crafts, so as to stimulate their inner motivation and realize their self-worth.
It is reported that the event is one of a series of activities to welcome the top 20 and move towards the future together.
